    The one-day symposium is an important opportunity for local scientists at work in water resources and environmental fields to convene and focus on topics of the day. In this era of regulatory changes, environmental challenges, and climatic concerns, it is imperative that those working on the front lines share insights from research and case studies to chart a path for the future.

  • "Delay Leaving the Delta", lecture by Sandra Murchison

    Ms. Murchison's work provides a tangible connection to history. Utilizing rubbings from the Mississippi Blues Trail historical markers, her body of work becomes a series of clues as to how the state of Mississippi constructs a specific past and identity rooted in music. She is interested in how we memorialize a culture. At the same time, she seeks to raise questions about the effectiveness of these markers. Is the trail too little, too late, or exactly what has been needed for some time?

    ORC is bringing Tim Cooper to campus, a legend in the world of Grand Canyon river guides.
